For the uninitiated, Rajat was the one to take a sly dig at Gambhir on national television by stating that Gambhir has become arrogant after becoming a member of the Parliament . Not only that, but the journalist also pointed out that Gambhir’s behavior towards Kohli does not suit his image as the mentor of the team nor as MP of a political party.

Kohli vs Gambhir: What exactly transpired between Kohli and Gambhir
It all started with Kohli and LSG player Naveen ul Haq taking a dig at each other during the closing stages of the LSG vs RCB match on May 01. The two players were in no mood to settle down the matter even during the customary handshake, with Naveen pushing Kohli’s hand away and also not apologizing to the player. Gambhir watched this from side-lines and vented out with frustration when he angrily took Kyle Mayers away from Kohli.
The RCB superstar sarcastically said something from behind, and that is when Gambhir completely lost his cool and went on to argue with Kohli. For the record, the RCB player also clarified that it is between him and Naveen, and I did not say anything to you. Gambhir though took it personally and said, “If you are insulting my player, then you are insulting me and my family.” Kohli gave a fitting reply by saying,
“Then you should protect your family first.” Gambhir then hit back at Kohli by saying, “So now I should learn from you.”

Both Kohli and Gambhir were charged for a code of conduct breach, with BCCI fining both players 100% match fees. Naveen ul Haq were fined 50% of the match fees. However, RCB wont cut the fine from Kohli’s salary.
“Players put their bodies on the line for the team and we respect that and as a culture we don’t cut the fine from their salaries,” Cricbuzz quoted an RCB source as saying.
