Winning the Austrian National Cup means that Sturm Graz are now qualified to enter the Europa League playoff round. However, they are in the second position in the Austrian Bundesliga table, just behind RB Salzburg trailing by 3 points. If they manage to keep their position by the end of the season, they will be qualified to play in the Champions League as well.

However, it was the fans that caught the attention of the world. They ‘lit’ up the environment in the stadium with flares. Fans from both teams took to each side of the stadium to light up different types of flares. It looked like a competition between the fans of the two teams as well as to who could support their teams in more spectacular ways.

Sturm Graz won the match 2-0 against Rapid Wien. It was the effort of their star forward Manprit Sarkaria of Indian descent who won Sturm Graz the match by scoring both goals. The second goal scored in the 84th minute into the match was Sarkaria’s 6th in the competition. He helped Sturm Graz win the trophy after the wait of 5 long years. However, he is not the only one whose contribution made it possible.

Arsenal loanee Arthur Okonkwo was named in the starting line-up for the winning team. This was his 14th appearance for the team and he has shined for them. On his debut match for the club during the quarter-final match of the competition against Red Bull Salzburg, he managed to save two penalties. His efforts helped Strum Graz progress into the competition that day.
