Also on Saturday, Ben Shalom’s BOXXER promotion takes place in Birmingham, UK featuring former super-middleweight title challenger Joshua Buatsi against Polish light heavyweight Pawel Stepien. The fight will air live on Sky Sports in the UK and an outlet will be announced for U.S. audiences.

Buatsi (16-0, 13 KOs) is a top prospect looking for his 15th straight win by knockout. Stepien (18-0, 12KOs) will try to pull off the upset and hand Buatsi his first loss. This fight is seen as a valuable step up in competition for Buatsi to prove he is ready for a world title shot.

The main event will show Canelo ( 58-2-2, 39 KOs) attempting to defend all of his super-middleweight titles for the first time against challenger John Ryder (32-5, 18 KOs). Canelo has dominated the division and seeks to defeat Ryder by knockout to make a statement. Ryder believes he has the skills to outbox Canelo and become a four-division champion. It sets up to be an entertaining fight between two skilled boxers with different styles.

Boxing fans have two solid cards to watch this weekend with prominent matchups and championship action. The matches in Mexico and UK should provide plenty of action and drama in the ring. Follow InsideSport on GOOGLE NEWS /  For Boxing News updates with InsideSport.IN
