Harry Maguire Transfer: Harry Maguire’s contribution to the team has been disastrous. There was also news that Manchester United are ready to offload the defender in the next transfer window. In the midst of that, reports say that Maguire has also become fearful of his plans. He wants to be a part of the Euro 2024 England team. Harry Maguire has not been the first choice for Manchester United for quite some time now. Even when he was given chances, he failed to provide quality performances. The situation worsened when he made some vital mistakes during Man United’s Europa League games. During their quarter-final first-leg match against Sevilla, Maguire scored an own goal which took away their lead before the second leg.

In the second leg of the quarter-final, Sevilla’s first goal was a result of Maguire’s mistake as well. Man United were actually considered favourites to win Europa League at one stage. However, they couldn’t recover and got knocked out of the Europa League. He also seemed to have fallen out favour with boss Erik Ten Hag. He may still be the captain, but he has only started 7 times this season in the Premier League.

Coach Ten Hag has started Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in most games this season. In the absence of one or both players, the coach has even started Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof. However, Man United has had a very tight schedule to endure. Hence, the coach has had to give Maguire some chances as well. Most of which seem to have gone to waste as his mistakes have cost the team greatly.

In this situation, Man United have shown interest in offloading Maguire. Reports say Maguire has started feeling, or fearing that he might have to leave the club. He wants to be a part of the England team of the Euro 2024. England team coach Gareth Southgate has clearly said on many occasions that only players performing well for their clubs will be selected. Since Maguire is not getting enough playing time, he fears he will have to leave the club.

Some Serie A clubs, like Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Juventus have shown interest in bringing Maguire to Italy on loan. Even PSG wanted to buy the defender back in January for £50 million. However, the club did not decide to release the player back then. Now they might want to sell him rather than loan him. The club pays £190,000 per week now. Hence, selling him might bring in some money to buy his replacement and other players.
