Highest IPL Total: Lucknow Super Giants have finally ended their Ekana boredom. How good was Mohali pitch?

Mohali pitch here is considered to be one of best batting surfaces in India. The match has provided some relief to fans after watching slow and low-scoring matches at the Ekana Stadium, LSG’s homeground.

Fans termed the Mohali pitch as “Road” as no bowlers could breathe a sigh of relief. Rahul Chahar was the only bowler to maintain an economy rate of 7.20 as the rest went over 10 runs an over.

Fans took to twitter to mock LSG captain KL Rahul, claiming his getting out early helped LSG make the record score.

How the IS Bindra Pitch usually plays

The wicket at the IS Bindra Stadium is considered to be one of the finest batting tracks in India with bounce and carry which makes it conducive for batting. However, the pitch also generally offers a bit of zip for the faster bowlers. The skipper winning the toss might want to have a bowl first and chase the total later on.

The average first innings score at the venue is 165.9 while the average first innings winning score is 179.4. The highest score at the venue happens to be 240 posted by CSK. Michael Hussey (116* off 54) was the highest scorer in that game which was won by the Yellow Army by 33 runs.

Paul Valthaty boasts of having hit the highest-ever individual score in an IPL match at ISBS with 120 (63 balls) for KXIP v CSK in 2022. Courtesy of his century, KXIP chased down 188 with six wickets in hand and five balls to spare.
