Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI: Virat Kohli(c), Shahbaz Ahmed, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik(w), Suyash Prabhudessai, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj
Josh Hazlewood has resumed bowling in the nets and is inching closer towards a return for RCB. However, the Australian is awaiting his clearance from Cricket Australia and remains unavailable for the clash on Wednesday. In his absence, David Willey should continue in attack having replaced Wayne Parnell.
Faf’s return gives RCB more flexibility with their impact player nomination. Their domestic Indian stars have struggled while Dinesh Karthik has failed to recreate his magic from last year. The franchise could thus look at someone like Manoj Bhandage. He is a hard-hitting middle-order bat and can chip in with a few overs spin. Whether he is ready for IPL action remains to be seen, but given RCB’s struggles he could very well make his debut.
