The younger Usman brother TKO’d his opponent in the first round to earn a UFC contract. He joins Kamaru in the UFC, who cheered him on and congratulated him in the cage after the fight. The Usman brothers hope to eventually fight on the same UFC card together.
Fight Night Headliner Set: Yadong vs Simon
Bantamweight fighters Song Yadong and Ricky Simon were set to face each other at UFC Vegas 71, but the fight was rescheduled for a week later and bumped up to the main event at UFC Vegas 72 on April 29.
The match is now scheduled for five rounds. The original headlining fight between Arman Tsarukyan and Renato Moicano was cancelled due to an injury sustained by Moicano. For Song Yadong, this fight against Simon provides a chance to break his two-fight losing streak and get back on track in the bantamweight division.
