Brij Bhusan Sharan Sexual Assault: Indian wrestlers have once again back to protest demanding an arrest and thorough investigation for BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers have accused the BJP MP of sexual harassment. To investigate the whole situation, a committee was set back in January who haven’t reported anything yet. This led Indian wrestlers like Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and others to come back to protest once again.

Recently, Vinesh Phogat released a video on her Instagram featuring gold medalist Bajrang Punia with Sakshi Malik. In the video, on behalf of the victims Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia pointed fingers at the Oversight Committee for not taking any proper action.

According to the reports, a committee was set up to investigate the situation with a one-month deadline. The committee consisted of Olympic Medalist Mary Kom, wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, former badminton player Trupti Murgunde, former CEO of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme Rajesh Rajagopalan, and former Sports Authority of India executive director (teams) Radhica Sreeman. Unfortunately, the Oversight Committee hasn’t responded or taken any action since January.

The 7 seven female wrestlers including a minor filed a complaint against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for sexual harassment. After 3-months of setting up a committee by the Sports Ministry, the Indian wrestlers have not received their judgment. Thus, the wrestlers have demanded other people to come on protest to support them.
