On January 7 of this year, Davis revealed that he would leave Mayweather Promotions before his fight with Hector Luis Garcia. “Tank” asserted that Floyd’s influence was on him and that he preferred to take his own course.

Davis’ desire to go his own way was considered natural by Mayweather Jr., who handled the situation coolly. Both were seen embracing each other after Gervonta Davis marked his victory.

Mayweather, Tank Davis’ mentor and former promoter, was there to cheer on his pal during Saturday night’s big fight with Ryan Garcia. The match got off to a slow start, with little happening in the first round that was noteworthy.

However, the fight picked up steam in round two as Garcia came out considerably more aggressively and repeatedly pinned Davis against the ropes.

Garcia was left vulnerable by these blows, though, and Davis felled “King Ry” with a counter left hand after his opponent slipped a left hook from him.

Garcia wasn’t gravely harmed since he promptly stood back up and resumed the battle, but Davis’s strength was made very obvious.

Mayweather, who was spotted watching and shaking his head in agreement, seemed to relish the knockdown in particular.

After hitting a devastating body blow in the seventh round, Davis went on to win the fight through knockout. Garcia was unable to overturn the referee’s count.

Looks like Gervonta Davis and Mayweather have become a family again after Tank Davis’s victory.
