Chasing a total of 215, Mumbai Indians brought the equation down to 16 runs off the final six deliveries. Arshdeep, who is the leader of the pace attack for the Punjab Kings was handed the responsibility to bowl the final over. With Tilak Varma and Tim David batting for the home side, Arshdeep conceded just a solitary run in the first two balls.
The 23-year old then nailed a perfect yorker to Tilak Varma. Under pressure, Verma tried to heave it over the leg side but completely misses the ball as it crashed the middle-stump that left it into two pieces. In an incredible display of death bowling, he yet again broke the stumps in the very next delivery dismissing Nehal Wadhera for a first ball duck.
The two perfect yorkers confirmed the victory for the Punjab Kings, breaking the hearts of the Mumbai fans at the Wankhede Stadium. In the next two deliveries, Arshdeep continued his brilliant show as he conceded just one more run. With that, the Sam Curran led Punjab Kings clinched an emphatic 13-run victory.

Speaking after his heroics with the ball, he said, “It feels good whenever I take wickets, the win makes the feeling better.” He futher stated that he maitained his calm while bowling at the death. “Calmness comes naturally. My heart rate doesn’t even go up to 120.”
After his four-wicket haul, he is now leading the wicket-takers tally. In seven matches, he has scalped 13 wickets and is the current holder of the purple cap for the most wickets.
