IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings skipper, MS Dhoni, was seen having a conversation with Sunrisers Hyderabad’s youngsters at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai following the team’s seven-wicket victory against them in match 29 of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. After the game, MS Dhoni engaged in conversation with the young players on the opposing team, like he has done in every CSK game this season. Harsha Bhogle and Dhoni also had a good time talking after the match, as Dhoni covered a range of topics. The statement made by the CSK captain thanking the Chennai audience for their support while acknowledging that this was the ‘final chapter’ of his career drew the attention of cricket fans.
“Whatever said and done, it is the last phase of my career, important to enjoy it. It feels good to be here. They have given a lot of love and affection. They always stay late to listen to me,” said Dhoni in the post-match presentation.
Coming to the match, CSK appeared to be in complete control throughout the game and outperformed Sunrisers Hyderabad on every front. While Ravindra Jadeja shone with the ball, picking up three wickets for his team, it was MS Dhoni who stood out on the field, as his outstanding catch behind the stumps off Maheesh Theekshana’s delivery, along with Mayank Agarwal’s subsequent stumping, allowed CSK to limit SRH to just 134 runs.
Once again, Chennai’s batting was at its best. Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 87 runs to the first wicket in 11 overs, giving the side the ideal foundation for the chase. Conway led his team to victory by scoring 77 runs off 57 deliveries to complete the game undefeated.
