Mohammed Siraj has turned a regular for India in Tests and ODIs over the last 12 months. The Hyderabad-born star is now pushing for a T20 recall with some stellar performances in IPL 2023. Siraj’s largely dismal record meant that he was often overlooked for T20s. However, the 28-year-old is putting all those questions to rest with his searing pace and accuracy this season.
Last season in the #TATAIPL, Mohammed Siraj recorded a Bowling Impact of -118, the worst for any bowler in the tournament, for any team.
So far in the 2023 season for @RCBTweets, his Bowling Impact is +69, the best of any bowler in the tournament, for any team.

Leading RCB’s attack, Siraj has 12 wickets in just six games. He largely operates in the powerplay and the middle overs, striking almost regularly to keep his side ahead in the game. His accuracy, variations, aggression and consistency have made him a gun bowler. His average is the second lowest this season behind LSG’s Mark Wood.
On Thursday, Siraj turned up the heat in a day game in Mohali. Defending a modest 174, the RCB star rocked Punjab Kings with a fiery spell of fast bowling. He trapped Atharva Taide in front, before sending Liam Livingstone packing LBW. He followed it up with the late wickets of Harpreet Brar and Nathan Ellis.
He finished his spell with figures of 4/21, his best this season. He made his T20I debut for India in 2017 but has since played only 8 T20Is. His last appearance in T20Is was back in November 2022. With the t20 World Cup next year, Siraj will be keen to give the shortest format a go while in his purple patch.
