While RCB bowled brilliantly on a sluggish wicket, Punjab Kings’ batting downfall in the match was mainly due to their own errors. The hosts gifted a few wickets to RCB early on, including two run-outs. Stand-in skipper Sam Curran threw his wicket at a crucial time with the lazy running in 10th over.
The all-rounder dug out a yorker on the final ball of the 10th over and set himself off for the single. However, the Englishman didn’t put extra effort into taking a quick single and was short of his ground as Wanindu Hasaranga fired a direct hit at the bowler’s end.

Earlier, RCB’s top order had laid the foundation for a big score, with Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli both scoring half-centuries. However, PBKS managed to fight back and restrict RCB to 174/4. Harpreet Brar dismissed Kohli (59) and Glenn Maxwell (0) off consecutive deliveries, while Nathan Ellis got the better of du Plessis (84).
In response, PBKS got off to a horrendous start, losing 4 wickets inside the powerplay. Opener Prabhsimran Singh (46) and wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma (41) were the lone warriors for the hosts with the bat as the side got bundled out for 150.
