There’s no way Ryan Garcia and UFC star Conor McGregor should cross paths at this point in their combat careers. However, they might do that in the future as ‘KingRy’ had expressed his intention of knocking out Conor McGregor in the past.

Three years back, in interaction with Little Giant Boxing, Ryan Garcia welcomed the idea of facing Conor McGregor and pinpointed how he would perform differently than Floyd Mayweather.

Garcia told, “Would he [Conor McGregor] fight me in a boxing match? I KO Conor [in] first [or] second round. I am explosive, I wouldn’t wait like Floyd [Mayweather]. Floyd was waiting to break him down. I wouldn’t do it.”

Both Conor McGregor and Ryan Garcia are two of the biggest names in the current combat sphere. A super fight between the two shall be extremely lucrative for everyone involved. Nevertheless, they both are standing ahead of their career-defining bouts.

Akin to Garcia, Conor McGregor desperately needs to win his upcoming fight. The Irishman hasn’t won his pro-bout since beating Donald Cerrone in January 2020. ‘Notorious’ has lost consecutively against Dustin Poirier since then and both times via stoppage.

If Conor McGregor fails to win against Michael Chandler, it can be the end of his UFC career. He would remain the Box Office favorite and can comfortably pick up his opponents. However, his dominance in the sport would be washed away.

Will Ryan Garcia push himself for the Conor McGregor fight?

Conor McGregor is the first UFC fighter to win world titles in two weight classes simultaneously. He has cemented himself as an elite world champion. Meanwhile, undefeated boxer Ryan Garcia is yet to win a world championship under his name.

Conor McGregor has also not seemed interested in a boxing fight lately. After losing against Floyd Mayweather, he has teased about his pugilistic return on several occasions. However, he is yet to finalize that and may not do so anytime soon, especially when he has a fight booked against ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler.
