Man City Treble CHAMPS: Manchester City are close to winning one of football’s highest honors, The Treble. Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan has been with the club for more than six seasons. The 32-year-old is now hoping to win his fifth Premier League title, second FA Cup, and his very first Champions League trophy with Manchester City. He is very positive regarding their chance to win the treble and he is also inspiring his teammates to keep up their form.

He said, “Of course we want to win this trophy. It’s our big dream to win the Champions League. But we want to win all the trophies this year. It’s going to be a really exciting end to this season, and we’re going to fight for it to the end.” He added that it’s the players’ “responsibility to do everything we can to end the season strong so that we can all celebrate success in the end.”

Even though he has his eyes focused on the prize, Manchester City must still be concerned because his contract with the club is set to expire at the end of this season. Man City has not been able to sign a new contract with the player and clubs like Barcelona are looking for the perfect opportunity to bring Gundogan to Spain. However, Barcelona might not get the chance if Gundogan wins the treble with Man City.

Manchester City will travel to Munich, Germany on Wednesday to face Bayern Munich for the Champions League quarter-final second-leg match. They will be taking on the German giants at their home, Allianz Arena with a 3-0 lead. Even though it has never been easy to defeat Bayern Munich at their home ground, Manchester City has been in such great form that they could just achieve the impossible.

In the FA Cup semi-final, Man City is set to face Sheffield United. Now, Sheffield United may be in good enough form to reach the semi-final, but they probably would not be able to stop Manchester City. If they reach the final, they will either face Brighton or Manchester United. Both teams can be one of the toughest opponents for Man City this season, but they could come out at the right end of it as well.

Man City’s toughest battle remains to be in the Premier League though. Mainly because their chances of winning the title entirely depend on table-topper Arsenal dropping points. Manchester City have a 4-point gap with Arsenal. Hence, Arsenal will have to either draw or lose in at least one more game while Man City will have the humongous task to win all of their remaining 8 matches to win the Premier League title.
