WPL 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to take the Women’s Premier League out of IPL’s shadow. Notably, the Indian board is also mulling over having a Diwali window for the Women’s T20 tournament. The board reportedly wants to have a gap between the IPL and WPL. If BCCI goes ahead with the new time window, the tournament might clash with Pakistan Women’s League which is set to begin in September.

Notably, the WPL 2023 was held in Mumbai from March 4-26 across two venues. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had earlier confirmed that WPL would remain a five-team tournament for the next three seasons and be staged in the home and away format in order to build fan bases.
