Bayern Munich’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Manchester City on Tuesday saw more than just a 3-0 defeat for the German giants. According to Sky Germany, forward Sadio Mane punched teammate Leroy Sane in the face following the loss. The altercation reportedly left Sane with a bleeding lip, and their fellow teammates had to intervene to separate them in the dressing room. Follow Champions League LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN
Bayern Munich has declined to comment on the incident. The situation raises questions about team dynamics and discipline within Bayern Munich. However, this is not the first time that Mane has been involved in a physical altercation with a teammate. In 2019, he had a heated exchange with Mohamed Salah during a Premier League game, which led to Salah being substituted.
❗ There was a big bust-up between Sadio Mané and Leroy Sané last night. Both had an argument on the pitch. After the final whistle, Mané complained about how Sané spoke to him on the pitch. Suddenly the Senegalese attacked Sané and hit him in the face (on the lip) [@BILD] pic.twitter.com/xnnPa0kKi6

Meanwhile, coach Thomas Tuchel said his team played well against City and the 3-0 scoreline doesn’t do justice to how good the side was in the first half.
“This does not feel like a 3-0 but it is a 3-0 and it is a huge, huge task now to turn this around. We are realistic but we will not give up,” said Tuchel afterwards”, Tuchel said after the game.
It remains to be seen what action, if any, will be taken against Mane following the incident. For now, the focus for Bayern Munich will be on turning things around in the second leg against Manchester City which will be played on April 19.
