Jadeja’s delivery to get rid of Sanju Samson was a fullish and quicker one, drifting into the middle and leg. Samson made the mistake of going back and not coming forward, which turned the ball past his back-foot block and hit the off-stump. This was Samson’s second duck in a row as he got out for zero in the previous match against Delhi Capitals.

The first wicket of the over was that of Devdutt Padikkal. Jadeja bowled a wider ball, away from Padikkal, who tried to fetch the slog-sweep but ended up with a top-edge. Devon Conway at deep backward square leg took a safe catch, and Padikkal had to walk back after scoring 38 runs off 26 balls. Padikkal was looking good and had hit some delightful shots before getting out.
Earlier, MS Dhoni, who is playing his 200th IPL match as CSK captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a crucial decision as the pitch was expected to assist the bowlers in the first innings. Rajasthan Royals started well with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler putting runs on the board. However, they lost the early wicket of Jaiswal, who had only scored 10 runs.
Overall, it was a brilliant performance by Ravindra Jadeja. The left-arm all-rounder bowled four overs and scalped two wickets while conceding just 21 runs. During this match, his economy was 5.20.
