Israel Adesanya: Alex Pereira Criticises UFC Champion for Mocking His Son: UFC News:Poatan had defeated Adesanya three times in two different sports prior to their UFC 287 middleweight title bout on Saturday. Notably, Pereira knocked out “The Last Stylebender” so severely in 2017 that he required oxygen before ascending to his feet to hear the official result of their rematch.
While Adesanya was still dazed and perplexed, Pereira’s five-year-old son entered the ring, hit himself with a water bottle, and acted as if he had been knocked out.
Six years later, a video of the troll job has been shared countless times and is being used to taunt the Brazilian’s biggest rival, who eventually exacted his revenge this past weekend.

Israel Adesanya finished off Pereira in the second round with a knockout and then hit him with three unseen bullets. The 33-year-old continued his mockery of Pereira’s son’s tears by tumbling to the ground while pointing at the boy.
The two-time UFC middleweight champion said in his post-fight press conference that his celebration was “petty,” but he insisted he felt compelled to teach the 12-year-old a lesson.

For the first time since UFC 287, Pereira discussed Adesanya’s apparent targeting of his child during his fight to regain consciousness.

“I wouldn’t do the same,” he replied. ‘Seven years ago, he was suffering through it, and I witnessed the elation on his face after the knockdown, when he realised that he had achieved his lifelong goal.’
Whilst Pereira acknowledges Adesanya’s motivations, he disagrees with his conduct and argues it makes no sense to compare himself to a 12-year-old son and seek retribution for something the child committed when he was 5 years old.
Pereira claimed that after defeating Adesanya at UFC 281, his son still wanted to replicate his viral move celebrating his father’s victory, but that he stopped him.
Since UFC president Dana White believes Pereira will move up in weight class following the loss, he has ruled out a trilogy bout between the two middleweights.
