With the thrilling last-ball win, The Lucknow Super Giants became the second team after Sunrisers Hyderabad to register a victory off the last ball with one wicket remaining. The Orange Army achieved the feat in 2018 against Mumbai Indians when they chased down 148 in the final ball with just one wicket in hand.
LSG also pulled off the fourth-highest successful run chase in IPL history. The highest successful target chased in IPL was done by Rajasthan Royals against Punjab Kings when they chased down 224.

Earlier, RCB set a massive target of 213 runs for LSG to chase. Faf du Plessis (79*), Virat Kohli (61), and Glenn Maxwell (59) all scored half-centuries and powered their team to an impressive score.
In reply, LSG had a terrible start and lost three wickets for just 23 runs in four overs. However, Marcus Stoinis took charge and played magnificent innings of 65 runs off 36 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes to keep his team’s hopes alive.
Nicholas Pooran then came to the crease and smashed a match-winning 19-ball 62, including seven sixes and four boundaries. Pooran recorded the season’s fastest fifty, reaching the landmark in only 15 balls. However, LSG made a mess in the final over but eventually get over the line to register a win.
