DC vs MI HIGHLIGHTS: MI WIN by 6 wickets – Mumbai Indians register their maiden win of IPL 2023. Rohit Sharma and Co went on to beat Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets to get the win. Despite Rohit Sharma’s fifty, DC came back strongly to put the game on a wire. Earlier, Axar Patel slammed a 22-ball half century to help the Delhi outfits register a defendable run score of 172 runs. Set to chase their first win of the cmapaign, both Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals were desperate to take 2 points from the game. Winning the toss, Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first as he wished to chase. In the previous 2 matches, MI lost after batting first. Determined to get a good start, DC started their innings on a positive note.

But Prithvi Shaw’s rough patch continued when he went on to throw away his wicket by playing a hasty sweep shot. Debutant Yash Dhull too failed to showcase his mark after being dismissed for just 2 runs. Skipper David Warner however, anchored the innings as the Capitals targetted to put up a big score on the board.

Though Warner was criticised for his low run rate it was Axar Patel who stole the show with his cameo. The all rounder slammed a 22-ball fifty to help his side most 172 runs on the board.

Set to chase the target, Mumbai Indians began in splendid fashion. While Rohit Sharma had deft touch, Ishan Kishan too went on the aggressive front till he was dismissed on 31. Tilka Verma added 41 runs before being sent back. After the inital 2 wickets, DC

struck a late comeback into the game.

 

Suryakumar Yadav’s horrific run continues as he was dismissed yet again on a Golden duck. It was his 4th golden duck in just 25 days. In his last 6 innings in white ball cricket, SKY has 4 ducks, 1 & 15 under his belt. Mukesh Kumar struck twice back to back to dimiss Verman & SKY.

Mustafizur then dismissed Sharma as young DC keeper Abhishek Porel flew to take a wonderful catch. MI were tasked to chase 5 runs in the last over. Anrich Nortje showcased his calibre in deathover bowling to keep MI undercheck. The visitors needed 2 runs to win off the last ball. Tim David rushed to complete his second as MI registered their maiden win of the competetion.
