The Jungle Fight 82 between Pereira and Ottoni happened in 2015, almost eight years back from now. Surprisingly, the opening round was fought almost entirely on the mat. When Pereira attempted to leap on the back after a takedown, things went south. When he fell, Ottoni caught his back. Pereira did a nice job of twisting and taking the back of Ottoni. He attempted a tight armbar, but Ottoni got free and finished the round with Pereira on his back.

The second round was a physical exchange of blows. Early in the round, Pereira was able to find his range and put significant pressure on Ottoni. He was scoring with tremendous blows, but Ottoni was holding on. But, Pereira ran out of steam and Ottoni came back to win. Several times, he landed a flurry of blows on Pereira, forcing him to retreat against the cage. With a double-leg takedown, Ottoni finished the round on top.

Pereira threw a one-two to start the final round. A second double-leg takedown from Ottoni was necessary. He effortlessly slashed into the mount. As a result of his lack of loyalty, Pereira was exposed as an RNC tapper.

Will history repeat itself in UFC 287 with Pereira vs Adesanya? Or will Pereira keep hold of his middleweight championship title?
