With the win, SRH has climbed to the eighth position with one win and two losses in three matches and two points. PBKS has slipped to sixth position to sixth position with two wins and a loss in two matches and four points.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Innings Highlights: In chase of 144 runs, SRH was off to a solid start, with openers Mayank Agarwal and Harry Brook playing some classy shots.
However, pacer Arshdeep Singh continued his tradition of striking in the powerplay, dismissing Brook for 13 off 14 balls. It was yet another disappointing outing for Brook in IPL 2023.
Rahul Tripathi joined Mayank and the duo took SRH through the remainder of the powerplay. Rahul Chahar’s spin put an end to Mayank’s brief knock of 21 in 20 balls.
However, that was it from PBKS bowlers. Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Makram too charge. It was Tripathi who was on a boundary-hitting spree, smashing Chahar for two successive fours in ninth over and Harpreet Brar for three fours in a row in the next.
Picked beautifully and launched out of the ground 💥@SunRisers fans, what do you make of Rahul Tripathi’s confidence with the bat tonight? 😎

Markram continued as an anchor. From the other end, Tripathi expressed himself with full freedom, bringing up his 11th IPL fifty in just 35 balls with seven fours and two sixes.
Markram and Tripathi smashed Mohit Rathee for 21 runs in that over, hitting three fours and a six. In the next over, Markram smashed Nathan Ellis for four boundaries, leaving the side with three to win in 18 balls.
SRH ended the chase successfully, finishing at 145/2 in 17.2 overs, with Tripathi (74* in 48 balls with 10 fours and three sixes) and Markram (37* off 21 balls with six fours). The duo also completed their 100-run stand in 52 balls.
Punjab Kings Innings Highlights: Sent to bat, skipper Shikhar Dhawan was the only highlight as he scored a 66-ball unbeaten 99 that lifted Punjab Kings to 143/9. Mayank Markande did the star turn with figures of 4/15 to leave Punjab Kings reeling at 88/9 in the 15th over. However, Dhawan partnered with Mohit Rathee for a record 55-run stand for the 10th wicket.
Punjab Kings endured a disastrous start as they lost Prabhsimran Singh in the very first ball by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, Dhawan again watched from the non-striker’s end as Matthew Short (1) was dismissed by Marco Jansen in the next over.
Dhawan found two fours off his Indian team colleague Bhuvneshwar, before Jansen returned to send back Jitesh Sharma.
Sam Curran struck a six and a four off successive Jansen deliveries. But after having made 22 off 15 balls, the English all-rounder was done in by leg-spinner Markande.
But Dhawan had other ideas as he smashed the SRH bowlers to take his team to a respectable total. Helping Dhawan along the way was Bhuvneshwar, who spilled three chances by the batter, including two off his own bowling.
