WWE Backlash 2023: WWE has just ended with WrestleMania 39 and the company is already ready for its next Premium Live Event. WWE has announced WWE Backlash next month in San Juan in Puerto Rico. The event will be held in Coliseo De Puerto Rico and wrestling fans are excited to watch the big PLE back in Puerto Rico. The company has already hinted at big matches for the Backlash PPV following WrestleMania 39. There are a few matches that are lined up as the main event matches at the PLE next month.
WWE Backlash 2023: Three potential main events
1. Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes rematch
Roman Reigns registered a big win at WrestleMania 39 defeating Cody Rhodes. The Head of the Table achieved his third consecutive win at WrestleMania 39 decimating another top star. However, the American Nightmare hasn’t stopped due to one failure. He will once again seek revenge against Roman Reigns and challenge him for a possible rematch.
Reigns vs Rhodes rematch would add a great main event for WWE Backlash as fans will get another chance to witness the epic clash.
2. Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes
On a recent episode of WWE Raw, Brock Lesnar brutally assaulted Cody Rhodes. The Beast Incarnate turned heel shocking the WWE fans with an unexpected betrayal. Although the reason behind Lesnar’s betrayal is still unknown, both men could collide at WWE Backlash in a high-stakes match.
WWE Universe is always ready to watch Brock Lesnar in a main event match that will completely change the course of the match. With destruction on the way, Lesnar vs Rhodes will add a big main event in Puerto Rico.
3. Bad Bunny & Rey Mysterio vs Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio
Bad Bunny will be hosting WWE Backlash in his hometown Puerto Rico. This might be a good chance for WWE to add the rapper in another potential match. Recently, Damian Priest attacked Bad Bunny brutally on Monday Night Raw following which he was admitted to a local medical facility.
This can be a complete turnover for a new match between Bad Bunny & Rey Mysterio against Judgement Day. Wrestling fans will be happy to watch another match featuring Bad Bunny after his successive runs at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 37.
What other matches fans can expect at WWE Backlash?
Following WrestleMania 39, WWE might add some notable matches for the PLE. WWE can add the IC Title on the line once again to face Gunther against Drew McIntyre or Sheamus. On the other hand, Rhea Ripley could have her first title defense at WrestleMania against potential superstars or a surprise return.
