Meanwhile, the Kings have managed to post a competitive total of 197 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The skipper Dhawan played an unbeaten knock of 86 runs which was laced with nine fours and three sixes. Apart from Dhawan, Prabhsimran played a handy knock of 60 runs in just 34 balls. Jitesh Sharma also played well for his 27 runs.
It was Dhawan’s 50th score of fifty or more and he became the fastest to get to this mark achieving the feat in 207th innings. Virat Kohli made it in 216 innings in RCB’s season opener last week.
“Yeah, I enjoyed my time in the middle. I was happy to share the crease with Shikhar paaji and enjoyed batting. He said to keep faith in your game and play to your strengths. I trusted myself and did what Shikhar paaji said. We need to bowl tighter and keep it simple and do well in the powerplay if we need to have an upper hand in the game. Yes, there is a bit of dew already and it will be a challenging task for our bowlers,” Prabhsimran said at the mid-innings break.
