Graham Potter SACKED: Following the sacking of Graham Potter as Chelsea’s head, stories are coming about the players who called their manager “Harry” or “Hogwarts” behind his back and considered him a “yes” man. Trevoh Chalobah, Hakim Ziyech, and Joao Felix are few of them. One thing is sure the former Chelsea head didn’t get respect from his players that they have given him nicknames. Chelsea players were also bemused by his team selection during his tenure. Follow Premier League LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

Chelsea appointed Graham Potter as the new manager in September by removing Thomas Tuchel. The former Brighton manager had a poor reason and his winning percentage was around 30%. The Blues slipped to the bottom ten of the table and they were knocked out in both domestic cups. After the loss against Aston Villa, Potter was sacked by the club.

We cannot deny the fact that Potter failed to get the same respect as Tuchel from Chelsea players. The 47-year-old Potter was relieved of his duties on Sunday. During his short stint, Potter won only 12 games out of 31. He guided Chelsea into the quarterfinals but Premier League failure added worry sign to his job.

Graham Potter struggled to win the players over and they believed he lacked authority. January transfer window was his first window where Chelsea invested in Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk. Signings did not lead to an upturn in results.

Owners were not just involved in transfers and they regularly followed first-team training sessions. The Chelsea manager never raised any issues with this. However, players didn’t like this. Potter was in pressure to change the fortunes of the club this season.

Players were against his selection and his too much involvement in players’ games. The atmosphere of the dressing room was not so convincing as Tuchel saw last season. Trevoh Chalobah was left on the bench against Aston Villa with Reece James being preferred in the back three. Potter’s decisions were criticized to include Hakim Ziyech and Joao Felix straight into his starting line-ups.

Potter once lost his words in front of the media, and claimed the club would ‘try and win the f***ing Champions League’. Fans sometimes admired him but players made their own perceptions.

Recently, Aubemeynag also celebrated his departure by liking an Instagram post regarding the sacking of Graham Potter. The Gabon international was not part of Graham Potter’s starting XI and was also removed from the Champions League squad.
