WWE or UFC for Boxing: Canelo Alvarez’s Promoter Makes Bold Claims Following UFC and WWE Merger

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has long expressed his admiration for Dana White and the business model of the UFC. With the recent merger between UFC and WWE, it’s no surprise that Hearn is paying close attention to the developments. In a chat with Ariel Helwani of MMA Hour, Hearn made a bold statement, noting that his ultimate goal is to take boxing to the same level as UFC and WWE.

He stated, “I particularly have a mission to create a WWE or a UFC for boxing. And I can do that, I dominate just by consistency, ability, and hard work but that can be sped up enormously through aggressive investment and that’s something we are being approached about at the moment. It’s not selling the business but it could be stakes in the business. That makes the process like I said rapid expansion and dominate the world of boxing faster than we will do anyway.” (5:08)

Although boxing as per Hearn is a tough business, but he believes that with the right investments, this goal is within reach, and the investment could help speed up the process. Indeed, with the investment and getting sharp business brains will definitely elevate the business to reach greater heights.

If Endeavour is able to add boxing to its umbrella, which already includes UFC and WWE, it would be a massive development in the world of combat sports. The potential for cross-promotion and collaboration between these major brands could lead to unprecedented growth and profitability. It remains to be seen whether Endeavour will pursue opportunities in boxing, but the possibilities are certainly intriguing.

For now it remains to be seen how Hearn’s vision will play out in the coming years, but one thing is certain – the world of combat sports is in for some exciting changes.
