Al Adalah vs Al Nassr HIGHLIGHTS: Cristiano Ronaldo, Anderson Talisca with BRACE, Ayman Yahya on TARGET as Al Nassr claim DOMINANT victory – Check HIGHLIGHTS

Cristiano Ronaldo was starting. Notably, Talisca is back with him for a second game in a row to support their expanding alliance. Since starting goalkeeper David Ospina has been injured, Nawaf Alaqidi has started more games than Argentinian Agustin Rossi. Martinez, a former Atlanta United standout, will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.

Al Adalah’s primary problem has been scoring goals this year; none of their players have more than three. Their striker, Marcus Antonsson, a former Swedish youth international, is tied for the team lead in goals, but he hasn’t offered them the menace they were hoping for. Christofer Gonzalez, a 30-year-old Peruvian who controls play in the attacking third, will be a key source of assistance for him.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb of Al Nassr initiates an immediate attack while carrying the ball down the left, but the Al Adalah back line awkwardly defends his ball into the centre, and Sami Al-Najei is penalised for ramming over a defender.

When Cristiano Ronaldo touches the ball for the first time from deep, the audience roars in approval. Yet, when he attempts to create space for a shoot, the flag thwarts his attack and eliminates the opportunity. Replays reveal that despite his last-second attempt to adjust, the Al Adalah back line really stepped up to push him over the edge.

The game has been quite open to this point, but the hosts are now almost in with a chance as they attempt an aerial lob for striker Marcus Antonsson! The Swedish forward does a good job of controlling it, but because he is surrounded by two defenders, he is unable to take a shot. That ball over the top must be avoided by Al Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo is in position to take a free kick, but instead touches one of his teammates and circles around the edge of the crowd, clearly demonstrating a move from the practise field. The rebound ball tries to find Ronaldo at the far post, but it just misses his leap of fame.

The Al Adalah defenders anticipated Cristiano Ronaldo’s attempt to play a one-two with a teammate near the top of the penalty area. The referee dismisses Ronaldo’s appeals after he falls to the ground and raises his hands in the air in an attempt to draw a foul or perhaps a penalty (it was right on the edge of the 18-yard box). Fair enough, it felt like a solid defence.

In the open goal, Abdulrahman Ghareeb shoots directly at the goalkeeper after being allowed to advance on a pass over the top of the high Al Adalah back line. It is immediately placed in Milan Mijatovic’s hands! A wide-open Talisca receives a cross from the left, but his header is slammed into the ground in front of the Al Adalah goalkeeper, who makes another simple save.

Al Nassr exerts a Lot of pressure, but Al Adalah manages to survive once more! Al Nassr repeatedly pumps the ball into the box following a corner. Nobody is able to put the finishing touch on it, so it uncomfortably pings around the area. Abdulelah Al Amri is then knocked to the ground in the penalty area and remains there, but the referee dismisses the protest.

The referee examines the situation and determines that AL NASSR will receive a penalty. When given the opportunity to take the penalty, Cristiano Ronaldo does so and scores! While Milan Mijatovic guessed properly, the penalty was blasted and put precisely as he moves to his left and low into the corner.

A brilliant through-ball for Abdulrahman Ghareeb down the left is the result of Talisca’s brilliant counterattack after he intervenes to dislodge Al Adalah in his own defensive third. Cristiano Ronaldo is waiting in the middle after the winger puts the ball there, but just as he rises to meet it, a defender deflects the ball away at the last second. Nonetheless, the first half’s scores are still knotted.

The second comes from open play this time, from Cristiano Ronaldo! He gets the ball in the top-left corner of the penalty area and shoots the ball across the goal face and into the back of the net, almost exactly replicating Talisca’s goal from 11 minutes earlier. Soon after, Talisca also scores his second goal.

Ayman Ahmed, the replacement, makes a great pass by slicing through the Al Adalah defence vertically. With Milan Mijatovic charging, Talisca grabs hold of the ball and skillfully lofts it over the goalkeeper and into the goal. Mijatovic stops Talisca’s chip attempt to complete his hat trick, but Ayman Ahmed grabs the rebound off Abdulaziz Al-feet Alawi’s and scores to win the match.

Al Adalah  XI:  Mijatovic,  Al-Jamman, Godal, Al-Salem, Al-Oufi, Edson, Hamdi. Lenis, Tijanic, Eugenio, Antonsson.

Al Nassr  XI: Nawaf, Sultan, Alamri, Gonzalez, Konan, Gustavo, Al Khaibari, Ghareeb, Sami, Talisca, Ronaldo
