Aubameyang’s relationship with Graham Potter hasn’t been great since the appointment of the former Brighton boss as the new manager in September 2022. Thomas Tuchel was the master behind Chelsea’s all-important signings in the last summer.
The former Arsenal captain was Tuchel’s choice and Chelsea signed him. However, it didn’t work out for Aubameyang. Tuchel was sacked after the Champions League defeat and Graham Potter took charge. Potter didn’t allow the former Barca man to feature in regular games.
Following his reaction on Instagram post, Aubameyang signaled his approval of Graham Potter’s departure. The Gabon international hasn’t made an appearance for the Blues since late February. Potter also removed him from the Champions League knockout rounds squad.
The ex-Arsenal skipper last appeared in the 2-0 defeat against Tottenham on February 26. He was an unused substitute in the 1-0 home win over Leeds United.
Now, Aubameyang is happy and he can expect his revival under the new manager. Chelsea are standing at the 11th spot in the table after the 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa. They are likely to miss out European qualification this season.
Aubameyang always remains in such headlines. He was recently seen supporting his former club Barcelona in their El Clasico win over Real Madrid. The Chelsea outcast was pictured in the thick of the dressing room celebrations after Barcelona’s win at Camp Nou.
He was also featured in an Instagram story posted by Ferran Torres, which was captioned ‘Grande’, meaning ‘big’ or ‘great’. Aubameyang is heavily linked with Barcelona for a summer move. Meanwhile, Denis Zakaria also gave his approval by liking the same Instagram post.
Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is the front-runner to replace Potter as Chelsea’s new manager.
