Chelsea invested £330 million, backing the former Brighton manager during the January transfer window, pushing their overall spending for the year above £600 million. The Blues dropped to 11th in the Premier League after Saturday’s 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa, indicating that Potter has not been able to turn around the club’s prospects.
The West Londoners will be led by Bruno Saltor until Potter’s stable replacement is chosen. It is understood Bruno could stay in charge as interim head coach for the rest of the campaign.

The early betting favorite for the position is German coach Nagelsmann, who was unexpectedly fired by Bayern Munich last month and succeeded by Tuchel. According to reports, Christian Vivell, the new technical head at Chelsea, is “pushing” for him to take over. With some quality options available at their disposal, it will be fascinating to see who Todd Boehly goes for next.
