Meanwhile, the last time finalists have breached the 200-run mark in their allotted 20 overs. RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave a fast start to the Royals as they both also completed their fifties. RR skipper Sanju Samson was also excellent with the bat as he stroked a half-century too.

For SRH, T Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped two crucial wickets in his four over spell. Fazalhaq Farooqi also scalped two wickets which included the big wicket of Buttler. Umran Malik bowled three overs and scalped one wicket before spending 32 runs.

Adil Rashid who made his debut for SRH said, “Some grip, some go straight on. Very good batting pitch and they played exceptionally. Didn’t allow our bowlers to settle. The bowlers did exceptionally well to restrict them to 203 from the position they were in, the last 6 overs were great.

“Feels incredible to play in front of a full side, hopefully many more to come. After seeing the pitch, maybe this target is 5-10 more than par but we’ll take that with our batting line-up. Hopefully I won’t be asked to bat, and if at all just a few runs late on to knock it around,” he added.
