Rajasthan Royals needed a strong start againstSunrisers Hyderabad and Jos Buttler did just that. The English opener hammered the fastest Fifty in IPL 2023 to give the last season’s runners-up a massive start against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The IPL 2022 Orange cap winner registered his half century in just 20 deliveries, making it the fastest fifty of this year’s tournament only for Shardul Thakur to equal his record.
Along with fellow opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, Buttler unleashed his carnage. The Brit slammed 7 fours and 3 sixes to reach the 50 run mark in just 20 deliveries. His innings was however shortlived when he dismissed on the very next ball after reaching his half-century. With a strike rate of 245.45, Buttler rattled his opponent bowlers.

The IPL 2022 orange cap winner continued his fine form by producing devastating blows against Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Washington Sundar,
T Natarajan and Fazalhaq Farooqi. With his fiery batting, Buttler helped Rajasthan Royals post their highest powerplay score in IPL. The Rajasthan outfits managed to score 85 runs after 6 overs.

Though the prangs of losing IPL 2022 finals against Gujarat Titans hurt Rajasthan Royals, a formidable start from RR will help the visitors go on to begin their campaign on strong note. Buttler’s heroics helped RR register their highest Powerplay score going past 81, their previous high score of 81/1 vs CSK in 2021.
