Manchester City vs Liverpool: Premier League Live: Manchester City condemned the reported attack on the Liverpool team bus and assured to fully corporate with Police as an investigation is launched. After the game at Etihad, Jurgen Klopp’s men were on their way back when an unfortunate event led to making headlines, as their bus was vandalized with the entire team on board. According to reports of The Athletic, a brick was thrown at the Liverpool team bus following Man City’s dominant win in the Saturday lunchtime game. Pep Guardiola’s side ran riot against Klopp & Co. where the visitors took an early lead however, goals from Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bryune, Jack Grealish, and Ilkay Gundogan settled the tie in City’s favor. Following the defeat, Jurgen Klopp’s side then saw their bus attacked on their trip back to Merseyside. Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation into the matter after the reports of the criminal act.

A statement on Manchester City’s website read, ‘Manchester City FC has been made aware that Liverpool FC’s coach sustained damage on its return journey following today’s game.

‘We understand an object was thrown towards the coach in a residential area.’

‘Incidents of this kind are totally unacceptable, and we strongly condemn the actions of the individual(s) responsible.’

‘We will fully support Greater Manchester Police’s investigation into this incident in any way we can.’

The Athletic reports a brick was thrown toward the Liverpool coach, causing a window to crack. However, no one has sustained injuries on the board bus, as Liverpool also supports the Police investigation.

Moreover, hateful chants were directed at the Hillsborough disaster of 1989 where 97 Liverpool fans were killed in the FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough Stadium.

The statement from Manchester City also regrets any offense caused by the chants as they assure needful measures to taken to attempt to eliminate such act in the future, as the statement read, ‘Manchester City FC are disappointed to have heard inappropriate chants from home fans during today’s game,’

‘We regret any offence these chants may have caused and will continue to work with supporters groups and officials from both clubs to eradicate hateful chanting from this fixture.’

‘The Premier League offered a statement after the game, condemning the chants at the Etihad.’

‘The Premier League condemns the chanting heard during today’s match between Manchester City and Liverpool,’ the statement read. ‘The League is treating the issue of tragedy chanting as a priority and as a matter of urgency.’
