In a mouth watering high scoring encounter, the start of the second innings got delayed. With day light fading away, KKR’s innings couldn’t start. The live visuals showed that the lights started to flicker slowly as only 6 towers lighted up on time. But the other half of the ground remained in darkness.

Seeing the conditions not improving, Sam Curran who was set to start with the new ball, after finishing his run ups and stretches, sat on the ground. With time going by and the lights not coming on, Shikhar Dhawan had a short conversation with his players before heading back to the pavilion. He was followed by the KKR batters and the ground umpires.
Now this incident makes BCCI face a massive facepalm. After a delay for about 15-20 minutes, the lights were back on the ground and the game restarted.
