IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings star Mukesh Choudhary has been ruled out of IPL 2023 with an injury. The left-arm pacer was initially set to miss the first half of the season, but further diagnosis has confirmed his unavailability for the tournament. Mukesh Choudhary is currently at the NCA continuing his rehabilitation. The left-arm seamer is struggling with a back injury and will miss the entire tournament. The 26-year-old was expected to play a major part this season, teaming up with Deepak Chahar in the attack. He had a tremendous breakthrough season in IPL 2022, picking 16 wickets from 13 matches, including a best of 4/46 at an economy of 9.32. He hasn’t played a competitive fixture since the Vijay Hazare Trophy Final in December.
CSK will certainly name a replacement for Mukesh. The four-time champ[ions have a death of pacer bowling options and will be on the hunt for one. Currently, Simarjeet Singh and Tushar Deshpande are available options alongside Deepak Chahar.
It is CSK’s second season-ending injury. Earlier, Kyle Jamieson was ruled out of the tournament. The franchise have since roped in Sisanda Magala as a replacement. Pace bowling is a department that needs strengthening with Ben Stokes also not expected to bowl for the first half of the season.
