Rishabh Pant, who was appointed as the captain of the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2021 edition, suffered multiple injuries in an accident in December last year. He underwent surgery for his knee and was advised to rest. Pant has since missed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia and will be unavailable for the Indian Premier League.
Delhi Capitals have a strong squad this year, with the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Anrich Nortje, Roman Powell, and Lungi Ngidi among others. The team also has a good mix of experienced players and young talent, making them one of the favorites to lift the trophy this season.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals are all set to take on the Lucknow Super Giants in their season opener at Ekana Sports City on April 1. The team will be led by Australian opener David Warner and Axar will be deputy to Warner. The Capitals will play their first home game on Tuesday, April 4 against defending champions Gujarat Titans.
