No fixed date has been given for Patidar’s return. The player continues his recovery at the NCA and has been advised to rest. After a span of three an MRI scan will be conducted on the injured heel. After the MRI scan, it will be judged when Patidar will be fit to join the RCB squad.

In the meantime, he has travelled to the team hotel and joined up with the squad for the RCB Unbox Event. He is yet to receive a clearance from the NCA and his participation hangs in the balance.

It has also been understood that Patidar picked up the injury before joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp. The player will need NCA clearance before he can take part in the IPL 2023. As far as his injury is concerned, if Patidar recovers fast and on time, he can join the second half of the Indian Premier League.

Patidar stole the show in IPL 2022 when he hit the fastest IPL hundred by an Indian in the crucial IPL Eliminator. Despite being not picked in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, the Bangalore outfits opted to take him when RCB wicketkeeper Luvnith Sisodia got injured. Patidar went on to slam 333 runs, which made him the third-highest run-getter in the squad.

On the other hand, Faf du Plessis will look for an opening partner with either of Anuj Rawat or Finn Allen.
