The incident took place in a Deepti Sharma over. Anjali Sarvani dived forward to take a stunning catch. With the catch being taken close to the ground, the on-field signal gave ‘out’ as the soft signal but referred to the third umpire to check if the ball touched the ground or not.

On replay, it is shown that despite the palm of Sarvani remaining close to the ground, the ball doesn’t touch the ground as the fielder went on to take a clean catch by catching the ball with her fingertips.
The third umpire then decided to change the soft signal by claiming to have conclusive evidence that the ball touched the ground. The change in decision shocked the cricket fan base with the fans taking to social media to showcase their disgust.
