IPL 2023: Mukesh Choudhary replacement – Chennai Super Kings have been dealt another blow with Mukesh Choudhary unlikely to make it for IPL 2023. The left-arm pacer impressed all in his debut season for CSK. However, he is yet to recover from his back injury. He has been sidelined since December. Lucknow Super Giants too are set to miss out on left-armer Mohsin Khan who was eying an India call-up. He is also nursing an injury and is a doubtful starter for LSG. “We are waiting on Mukesh but we do not have much hope. He was one of our bowling mainstays last year. It will be unfortunate if he misses out,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz.
CSK retained Mukesh Chaodhury after an impressive IPL 2022 where he scalped 16 wickets in 13 matches. Despite a poor season for CSK, Mukesh was one of the highlights in absence of Deepak Chahar. Mukesh is currently at the National Cricket Academy, recovering from his back injury.
Mohsin Khan on the other hand has joined the Lucknow Super Giants camp. However, he is a doubtful starter. He is still recovering from his injury. The UP paceman was in line to get an India call-up after an impressive debut with LSG in IPL last season. He bagged 14 wickets but his economy rate among pacers was more impressive. In 9 matches, he conceded only at 5.97 economy rate.
