The opening ceremony is likely to commence around 7:30pm IST on March 31, followed by the match roughly half an hour later, similar to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 launch last month. In the aftermath of the Pulwama attack, the BCCI decided not to hold an opening ceremony before the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the course of 52 days, 70 league-stage matches will be played across 12 venues.
The IPL will also return to the ‘home-and-away’ structure this year, with the 10 teams divided into two groups for the 70 league matches. In the league stage, teams will play 7 home games and 7 away games. Each team will play each of the other four teams in their group twice. They will also play each of the other five teams once.
