PSL 2023: In the world of sports, it’s not uncommon for successful athletes and teams to receive rewards for their achievements. The recent news of Lahore Qalandars gifting plots and iPhones to its players after winning back-to-back Pakistan Super League titles has garnered quite a bit of attention. Lahore Qalandars franchise is owned by Fawad Rana and it is one of the most exciting teams in the PSL since its inception in 2015. Qalandars have won PSL titles in the 2022 and 2023 editions of the tournament.
Despite not winning any PSL titles in the first six seasons, they continued to attract a loyal fan base. However, things changed for the Qalandars in 2022 when they finally broke their title drought. But the Qalandars were not satisfied with just one title. They went on to win the PSL again in 2023. Now Qalandars is the only team in the history of the tournament to win back-to-back titles.

PSL 2023: Lahore Qalandars Rewarded Players
As a reward for their success, the owners of the franchise decided to gift plots and iPhones. Players like Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Zaman Khan, and Rashid Khan received the gift of a plot in Qalandars City. The rest of the team, including those who were on the bench for games and did not feature in the PSL, were also gifted.
The captain of Lahore Qalandars Shaheen Afridi gets a one-kanal plot. He was also given additional plots worth two kanals for captaining the side to the PSL title.
“He’s going to have a farmhouse in Qalandars City,” joked Sameen Rana, COO and team manager of the Lahore Qalandars. The video of gigting is posted on the official YouTube handle of the Lahore Qalandars.
The owners had already gifted a few plots to Fakhar and a smaller plot to Rashid earlier in the season. “You probably have three or four plots in Qalandars City already,” said Sameen. He also tells Rashid: “Ab aap ghar zaroor banana wahaan pe (You must definitely make a house there).”
Other players also got gifts for their performances. Zaman Khan, who had bowled the last over of the PSL final. “There’s a special award for the guy (Zaman Khan) who bowled the most difficult over in tonight’s game. A plot for you in Qalandars City,” said Sameen.
The cost of the plot gifted to the players was listed at 92.5 lakh Pakistani rupees (approximately 27 lakh in INR). This is a significant amount, and it’s clear that the owners of the franchise spared no expense in rewarding their players for their hard work and dedication.
