Mason Mount Transfer: Mason Mount’s future at Stamford Bridge has been under speculation as the club’s management and the player is yet to reach an agreement over a contract extension. The 24-year-old midfielder has been on the radar of Premier League rivals, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle being the keenest ones to sign him. Mount’s contract will expire in 2024 and he will be entering the last year of it, next season. Apart from being one of the most reliable presences in midfield, Mount is the local Chelsea boy, to whom fans connect. The persona which Mount brings on the pitch for Chelsea makes him one of the hot prospectus for Chelsea. However, Mount has been only earning £80,000 per week, which didn’t even make him the top 20 paid athletes at the club.
Mount wants a salary that is more reflective of his status within the squad, who has won two player of the season back to back at Chelsea. However, the new owners focus on a new type of deal which is giving long-term deals with less salaries to players. So, this is why both parties are yet to reach over an agreement.
Chelsea will decide to negotiate once again with the player as the season-ending has some time. But in case no deal is cracked till the season ends, Chelsea might sell him in the summer window as per reports.
Mount has also hired a new agent for himself who will assist in negotiating with other clubs if the contract extension with Chelsea fails.

This season hasn’t been the best for Mount as he only managed to score 3 goals in Premier League in 2023 games, the least among all the seasons he played. Chelsea, who have a lot many options in the midfield might let him leave if the player refuses to extend the contract.
