Major League Cricket Draft: Major League Cricket debuts this year and on March 19, a player draft will take place in which players will be chosen from the ongoing MLC Domestic Player Combine. The top US-based talent in the USA cricket community will be represented by the over 100 players who will be eligible for the draft. Teams representing Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Texas and Washington, D.C. will pick nine domestic players with additional overseas player signings to be announced in the coming days.
The eight rounds of domestic talent will be selected by the six foundation MLC franchises on Sunday night, along with one “Rookie” Under-23 player. Teams are also required to add another domestic player to their roster at a later time based on their performance in the first half of the Minor League cricket season. Some of the world’s top T20 cricket players will make up the remainder of each team’s player roster.
