ATP Rankings: Novak Djokovic has continued his record-extending stay as the World No.1 in the ATP Rankings. The Serbian has entered his 377th week at the top, which is two more than Steffi Graf’s tally of 375 weeks overall in the history of Tennis. Meanwhile Rafael Nadal is all set to go out of Top 10 for the first time in 15 years. Follow Tennis News and LIVE updates at InsideSport.IN

Djokovic suffered his first defeat in the year after losing in the semifinal of the Dubai Open 2023. He went down in straight sets against Daniil Medvedev. However his semifinal finish in the ATP 500 event fetched him 180 points and he leads the rankings with 7,160 points.

Carlos Alcaraz, who withdrew from the Mexican Open maintains his spot at number 2. There is no change inb the first five places as Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud and Taylor Fritz complete the Top 5. Daniil Medvedev, who won the Dubai Open meanwhile moved up one spot. He is now at No.6. The Russian is in terrific form as he has won four successive titles.

Rafael Nadal, who has been out of action since the Australian Open after suffering a hip injury moved down one spot. He is now at the ninth spot. The Spaniard is set to drop out of the Top 10 as he has withdrawn from the Indian Wells Masters. Nadal has been maintaining his spot within the Top 10 for a record 911 successive weeks.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion’s run in the Top 10 is all set to come to an end on March 20 following the Indian Wells Masters. He first made it to the elite bracket as an 18-year old way back in 2005 following his victory in the Barcelona Open. From then on, the Spaniard has held his spot firmly, notching up numerous titles in his illustrious career.

Nadal is eyeing his return to the tour ahead of the clay court season this year. With him being the defending champion at the French Open, he is likely to return for the Madrid Masters that is scheduled in April.
