Virat Kohli is the all-time highest run scorer in T20I games with over 4000 runs to his name. He also has the most runs scored (6624) in the lucrative Indian Premier League, where he plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Since Kohli and ABD had helped the RCB win numerous games, it would have been reasonable to assume that he would choose the former India captain.

Despite being just 24 years old, Khan has already established himself as one of the leading T20 players in the world. With his exceptional leg-spin and economical bowling he has won numerous games for his teams. Apart from IPL, Rashid also plays in BBL, SA20, PSL, and ILT20 leagues.

Meanwhile, Kohli will play for RCB in the upcoming season of the IPL. Whereas Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan will also be there as part of the defending champions Gujarat Titans. It will be great to see a contest between Kohli and Rashid in the IPL.

While Kohli and Gayle are undoubtedly two of the greatest T20 players of all time, with Kohli being the highest run-scorer in the format and Gayle holding several records for the most sixes and centuries, de Villiers’ choice of Khan highlights the impact that the young leg-spinner has had on the game.
