UFC 285: Michael Bisping feels Jon Jones underestimates Ciryl Gane
In a recent YouTube video, Michael Bisping highlighted how Jones Jones embraces himself by being active on Twitter. And whenever there is a discussion about the greatest in the company, he gets in and brags about his history. In addition, he even cited Jones’ most recent tweet, in which he disparaged Gane’s skill as a kickboxer. See the tweet that is underneath.
Man I just finished watching my Thiago Santos fight again. I think it’s crazy that you guys consider gane the most technical kickboxer I’ve ever faced. Everything Thiago did have bad intentions on it. Dude had lightning speed, power, explosiveness. Crazy versatility.

In the tweet, Jones recalls his fight with Thiago Santos, in which he was awestruck by his kickboxing prowess. He even referred to him as the most technical kickboxer and ranked him above Gane, indicating that he will undoubtedly defeat Gane just like Santos, who he considers to be the best technical kickboxer, was defeated.
He stated, “Thiago Santos is definitely a phenomenal force of nature, he is a tremendous kickboxer and he had an amazing run in the UFC. But is he as dangerous as Ciryl Gane? I say to answer that no. I don’t think he is. But of course, you’re going into a fight you want to big up your former opponents. Anyone that you beat always in your mind you’re like they were really good. Because by doing that reinforces to yourself how good you really are.”
He continued, saying that before a battle, fighters constantly want to downplay their opponent in order to feel superior to their competitors. Yet, according to Bisping, the fighter must also be realistic, and comparing Thiago Santos to Gane is not favourable for Jones. Given that Gane is a far better opponent than the others Jones has faced. And making light of him just serves to undervalue him.
