Earlier, England had declared their first innings on a commanding score of 435-8, leaving New Zealand with a tough task ahead. Despite their best efforts, the Kiwis were unable to save the follow-on and were bowled out for just 209 runs in their first innings.
However, New Zealand came back strong in their second innings, with captain Kane Williamson leading the charge with an impressive 132 runs. The Kiwis put up a total of 483 runs, taking a lead of 257 runs over England.
In the second innings, England was determined to put up a fight, but they were ultimately unable to overcome New Zealand’s impressive bowling attack. On day 5, England were bowled out for 256 runs, falling just one run short of their target and ultimately handing the win to New Zealand.
