NZ vs ENG: Barmy Army’s heart-warming gesture gets a thumbs up from netizens, as they wish a speedy recovery to Cummins’s mother

Barmy Army’s touching video to Cummins’s ailing mother instantly became viral. Netzines flooded the comments section by wishing Maria a speedy recovery. For the unversed, the Australia skipper has returned from India tour to be with his mother. The fast bowler is also likely to miss the ODI series starting on March 17.

As per reports on Sydney Morning Herald, Cricket Australia offered Pat Cummins a choice of whether to return home or remain with the team after thrashings in the first two Tests. But after speaking to his teammates, Cummins decided to return home. He was originally scheduled to return for the 3rd Test. But as his mother is battling breast cancer, he chose to stay home.

“That’s just generally being good people. In any workforce or any business, family is still No 1, so if anything is going on, you’ve got to be able to go home. Cricket’s always going to be there,” Peter Handscomb said ahead of traveling to Indore for 3rd Test.
