Chennai Blitz have had a disappointing season in the second edition of the league. The team coached by Argentine Ruben Wolochin managed just a solitary win in the season. They started the tournament with a 3-2 win against Kochi Blue Spikers.
However after the winning start, they suffered defeats against Mumbai Meteors, Bengaluru Torpedoes, Hyderabad Blackhawks and Ahmedabad Defenders. With these losses they have gone out of contention of a semifinal spot.
Kolkata Thunderbolts meanwhile began the season with three successive wins. They faced their first defeat against Calicut Heroes but bounced back after the defeat with a 3-2 win against Mumbai Meteors in their last league game.
