IND vs AUS: Steve Smith and Co have jetted off to Indore. Team Australia who were in Delhi for the past two weeks will reach Madhya Pradesh’s largest city today. The Indore Test will provide some relief to Australia as the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association has prepared a red-soil surface with lots of bounce. Given that Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green are both returning, visitors will enjoy playing on the surface. Follow India vs Australia LIVE updates with InsideSport.IN

Australia will start their practice session tomorrow. Notably, the visitors were training at Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi before jetting off to Indore.

Spin has dominated the conversations so far in BGT. Spinners have already taken 52 wickets to finish both Test matches in three days. But, Indore might provide the first sign of pace. When India’s cricket team last played a Test at Indore, Mayank Agarwal ended up getting a double century. While Bangladesh who were batting first got terrorised by pacers.

In the previous two Test matches in India, India’s bowling attack outperformed Australia’s elite batting lineup, leaving Pat Cummins’ team behind 2-0 going into the third Test in Indore, which starts on March 1.

Although Pat Cummins won’t be returning from Australia the following week due to family obligations, Steve Smith will captain the Australian Test team against India in the third Test match.

Between 2014 and 2018, Smith led Australia in 34 Test matches, including the most recent Test series against India in 2017, which was marked by controversy but included three centuries from Smith’s bat. He has a 23.66 batting average and has scored 71 runs in four innings during the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

There is a good probability that Australia might play India again in that one-off Test match with the allure of winning the coveted mace if they escape a 4-0 series whitewash and get to the ICC World Test Championship final in London.
